Study Says Chlorella can Improve Health in NAFLD Patients

Chlorella Scientists at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Tabriz, Iran have recently found that Chlorella vulgaris supplementation helps fight non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

The study was carried out to find out how chlorella vulgaris supplementation affects liver enzyme, serum glucose and lipid profiles in patients with NAFLD.

In a double-blinded randomized study conducted, the results showed that chlorella supplementation reduced weight, alkaline phosphatase, and fasting blood sugar more significantly.

The researchers concluded that Chlorella vulgaris seems to improve fasting blood sugar and lipid profiles and that it can be used as an effective complementary treatment in NAFLD.
