There are many problems associated with our respiratory system such as asthma, sinus problems, cough, etc. Following are some of the foods that can help the respiratory system to get rid of various problems.

Green tea: Helps to remove all foreign matter from the lungs, sinus, and move the cilia and mucus again.

Nuts: Vitamin E in nuts helps open the airways and reduce inflammation. It is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect and repair damaged lung tissue and aids in red blood cell formation which increases oxygen within the body.

Carrots: These as well as other red, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables contain beta carotene which may decrease asthma. Beta carotene also has antioxidant properties which help remove cell damage.

Oranges and papaya: Contain vitamin C which can heal lungs.

Leafy greens: Spinach and other leafy greens are good sources of magnesium and folate, which can help with asthma and allergic reactions.

Magnesium: Relaxes the muscles in the airways and helps more air get through. Dried figs, bananas, brown rice, prunes, and beans are just a few magnesium-rich foods.

Ginger: Herb that helps detoxify lungs and contributes to better circulation.
