Foods that Fight Inflammation Researches have found that basil and other foods can help fight inflammation.

Inflammation in small condition is good but chronic condition is very bad and has been linked to many problems such as neurological disorders, intestinal issues, joint pains, auto immune diseases, etc.

But we can protect us from inflammation by eating those foods which have anti-inflammatory properties. Here are some foods which are anti-inflammatory in nature.

Basil 

Basil is a common name of the herb Ocimum basilicum and belongs to the mint family. It can be eaten fresh to reduce inflammation.

Apart from this, many herbs and spices are anti-inflammatory in nature. They include cinnamon, turmeric, etc.

Ginger

Studies have shown that ginger can lower post-exercise inflammation and a drop in joint pain caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Research suggests that its anti-inflammatory effects may be due to an active compound called gingerol present in the plant.

Sweet potatoes

Nutrient packed sweet potatoes are great news for heart, skin and also joint health. Sweet potatoes are packed with carotenoids and vitamins and also they are anti-inflammatory. Apart from this foods high in vitamin C and E and the carotenoids, alpha and beta carotene are also anti- inflammatory in nature.
